FP&A Analyst

12 month, maximum-term contract with potential for extension. Brisbane based role with up to 2 days work from home per week.

What you’ll be doing

The objective of the FP&A Analyst role is to provide analytics and insights into implementation costs for key engineering sponsored projects such as Cabin Refurbishment and Inflight Connectivity.

  • Financial modelling experience and ability to build and validate complex business models/cases
  • Simplifies and frames complex analyses. Strong background in preparing and presenting PowerPoint decks and written materials
  • Development, maintenance and continuous improvement of any model, forecast or budget
  • Focuses on developing, reviewing, understanding modelling for large scale project cost tracking/ capturing/ accounting and reporting
  • Outstanding attention to detail and “Eagle Eyes” in reviewing monthly project costs
  • Investigating variances and ensuring accuracy of numbers
  • Understands and supports financial forecasting, monthly/quarterly forecasting, budget and strategic financial plans
  • Business partnering to drive financial outcomes
  • Presents key financial information and clear, accurate and concise reports
  • Proactively work with internal stakeholders across the VA Group

You’ll be great in this role if you…

  • Have a tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Economic, Science or similar
  • Have some experience working for a large, corporate business
  • Financial modelling experience and ability to build and validate complex business models/cases
  • Experience creating and reviewing complicated financial models
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Proven track record in delivering against deadlines
  • Ability to think strategically and implement initiatives in a way that deliver upon business outcomes

We will consider recent university graduates for this position, provided you had a strong GPA in your final year and some relevant work experience while at university. You will also need to be a strong, professional communicator.
