Who we’re looking for: 

Don’t mind a bit of hard work and manual labour? Happy to be outside in rain, hail, or shine? We need strong, driven, adaptable and reliable people to join the Virgin Australia Pit Crew team. It’s a challenging role, with a lot of responsibilities – from helping ensure our planes are turned around on time, to making sure everyone’s baggage gets where it needs to be, on time (and in one piece). 

What you’ll be doing: 

• Moving and loading freight 

• Pushing stairs and helping to open aircraft doors 

• Driving those little baggage tugs 

• Carefully loading bags (sometimes up to 1000 a day) 

• Correctly handling cargo, oversized items and pets 

• Recognising and handling dangerous goods 

• Safely operating and maintaining our Ground Services Equipment 

• Work in different teams, make new mates, and have a great time doing it

We’re looking for someone who… 

• Are at least 18 years of age  

• Are an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident  

• Are happy working in a high-pressure environment  

• Have transport to and from the airport, even at hours when public transport is not operating  

• Can work a rotating shift roster (including early starts, late finishes, weekends, public holidays and peak periods).
